JOY IN CHRIST
LUTHERAN CHURCH
ELCA
Welcome to Joy in Christ Lutheran Church
All are welcome to worship with us at Joy in Christ Lutheran Church. Weekend services are held on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Fellowship time with refreshments begins 30 minutes before each service, offering a wonderful opportunity to meet members of our church family.
Convenient parking is available near the church entrance, including ample handicapped-accessible spaces. As you arrive, a friendly member will greet you, help you find the sanctuary, and answer any questions you may have. We invite you to sign our guest book and wear a name tag. While visitors are not formally introduced during worship, we warmly encourage you to join us for coffee and fellowship in the narthex before the service.
What to Wear
Our services are casual and comfortable—come as you are. Most attendees dress casually, and whatever makes you feel comfortable is perfectly appropriate. Coat racks are located to the right as you enter the narthex.
The Worship Service
Everything needed for worship is provided in the bulletin, including hymn numbers for easy reference in the hymnal. Ushers are always available to assist you.
Offering
An offering basket is passed during the service. Guests are welcome to participate but should never feel obligated to give. Some members contribute one-dollar bills to the Dollars for Joy Fund, which supports special grants awarded each fall.
Communion
Holy Communion is celebrated at each weekend service and during certain special services. All are welcome to receive the sacrament.
The Lutheran Church confesses the real presence of Christ in, with, and under the bread and wine. Jesus is the host of this meal and invites all to receive His gifts of grace: “The body of Christ, given for you. The blood of Christ, shed for you.”
Gluten-free wafers are available upon request. Non-alcoholic white grape juice is provided in the inner ring of cups in the communion trays.
All are welcome!
